Questions about electrical repair
Half my outlets stopped working but the breaker is on. Why?
Usually a tripped GFCI somewhere upstream — a garage, bathroom or exterior receptacle feeding the rest — or a loose neutral in the first box on the run. Both are common in Utah homes and both are a same-visit fix once the circuit is traced.
Do you charge to diagnose the problem?
Diagnosis is quoted as its own flat item, so you know the number before we open a single box, and you are never billed by the hour while we work it out. If you approve the repair, we tell you exactly what that comes to first.
Is a warm outlet or switch plate dangerous?
A dimmer running a big load may be slightly warm and that can be normal. A receptacle that is warm with nothing plugged in, or a switch that is hot to touch, points to a loose connection that is arcing. Stop using it and call (888) 633-7804 — this is the fault that starts fires.
Can you fix an outlet the same day in Utah?
Most days, yes. Outlet, switch and GFCI work is short-duration and we keep those slots open. Call early in the day and there is a good chance of an afternoon arrival in Utah.
